At 12 storeys high, Monterey is Australia’s tallest ‘timber frame’ residential building and the use of cross laminated timber (CLT) construction technology allowed the building to achieve a number of environmentally sustainable outcomes. The modest size of the site and proximity to heritage-listed buildings and significant vegetation required our team to successfully negotiate a number of outcomes including reduced boundary setbacks, increased site cover and floor area and innovative landscaping solutions.
