Founding partner John Panaretos has recently retired after 41 years dedication to the town planning profession, 30 years of which has been spent as an Urban Strategies company director.
Prior to launching himself into the world of private consultancy, John set out on his planning career in 1978 with the Northern Territory government and then enjoyed a brief stint with Brisbane City Council. In 1985, not content with just making his mark with the public sector, John established a firm in his own name, John Panaretos Planning. Then in 1989, the same year as the Berlin Wall came crashing down, the first GPS satellite was launched, and the World Wide Web was created, John decided that he too would start something momentous and established Urban Strategies.
Over the intervening years John has powered on to continue to grow the reputation of the company. With the help of John’s steady and guiding hand, Urban Strategies has become a highly respected Queensland town planning firm which has also expanded into NSW.
We wish John all the best in his retirement!
